Maybe we would be the jelly on the toast!
Really!!! If they got here, they would have a balanced eco system and not need jelly for the toast.
Plus if you flip a few organic molecules, we would not even be food.

Yea, we're toast (at best). I also tend to agree that, if they have reached the level of being technologically advanced; they would be so far advanced of us, it's ridiculous.

I agree Serge, Among the locally grown beings are the most interesting and interested in contact and knowing
as much that can be found.

infinity seems impossible to accept.
just not enough time.
but that won't stop it.

"We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star.
But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special," - Hawking

I remember when we were very special super pond scum, seems like it was just a yester-eternity ago.

Very special to who I wonder? Of course all of the alien visiting lore means there are special too.
Will first contact prove to be a boon or bust? What a letdown if they turned to be less interesting than ourselves.

Your thoughts are understandable. It is not easy to accept that the universe had a beginning and will have an end. We want to think that the universe is infinite and that it always was and always will be. We want to think that we can go on forever in some way.

My thought on the this subject is very controversial.

Personally I can not believe in the fact that there is 1 Big Bang, and I don't mean continuous Explode contract etc..

If the Universe is infinite, then there must be a lot more than we can see.
And why believe then that our Big Bang is the only one around.
It makes more sense to me that the Big Bang is a regular happening on scale far beyond the visible Universe.

Now think of this; if we keep expanding (and apparantly accelerating) then eventually the energy of our Matter dies (Dark Matter).
Í don't know what the calculations are but I can quite wel imagine that if this happens on a large scale that we("our"Bing Bang) are (gravity wise) atracted to matter from other Big Bangs that are not within our visible reach and therefore accelerate towards the other regions of the unknown universe . No dificult calculations necessary but just simple logic I thought.

Hopefully you give me you thoughts.
