Astronomers announced with excitement Friday they had discovered what they call the solar system's 10th planet -- a shining object, much larger than distant Pluto, that is orbiting the sun more than 9 billion miles from Earth.

It is by far the largest and most distant object ever detected in the outermost reaches of the solar system, and the announcement is certain to stir up controversy among other astronomers who will argue that because it is so far off, it is not entitled to be called a planet at all.

  • I wonder how elliptical it's orbit is.

some article said 9th "planet", isn't it?

Pluto (some do not consider Pluto a planet)
        • It would be interesting to consider the strange nature or lack of WMAP cold spot, too.

          750 YEARS FROM NOW

The young astrologist is liable to remain impressed by colorful web sites and a huge display of completely useless books, as one can stay assured, as many are, that not a word or calculation within those all-pervading libraries of the devil is true. People with absolutely no zodiacal or mathematical qualification have written absurdities that echoed laughter in the sky gazers chambers. Logically astronomers laugh at people who found lodges as based on a sky that does not exist since it has been invented by simple minds and never shall be observed. If you ask such people to point at the phenomenon and prove it, they would not be able to find the part of the sky where the alleged phenomenon would appear, simply because their simple models have really nothing to do with any real sky, be it the IAU, Mayan or Egyptian sky. Setting superstition apart, we shall answer a couple of questions as concern Nibiru.

          ERIS

Eris has been accused of being Nibiru. While writer's appetite is in favor as Eris in Cetus is the ideal devil of any cosmogony, Christian including, Eris is too small to be Nibiru.

          KELU-1

KELU-1 is qualified as concern size. This recently discovered neighboring brown dwarf is nevertheless late for the 2011 crossing. It simply does not move towards the asteroid belt at light speed.
          9th PLANET

The theoretical discovery of a 9th planet as announced this year has yet to be tested and proven. We do not have the osculating elements for the 9th planet, that is estimated the size of Earth, thus unqualified to be Nibiru proper. Being privy to NASA inner secrets, we could expose various plots for 9th planet for the time being.

          OUTER GUARDIANS

The outer guardians of our solar system are objects with extreme period. They qualify as concern distance but when they come to visit, as a couple of year ago, they figure as small chunks of ice, rather than gigantic planets.

          GIANT COMETS

Gigantic visitors like recent Wind qualify as concern size, especially when estimated as five times the size of Jupiter. Their structure is however not stable and they do not resemble a brown dwarf.

          NIBIRU

Despite a great amount of speculation, the osculating elements for Nibiru are nowhere to be found. Positions have been posted here and there but not from any reliable source. To deduce the osculating elements from such “observation” seems ridiculous as anyone spotting Nibiru could contact the Harvard MPC with osculating elements. To our knowledge nobody published an abstract that would resume any observation on scientific basis.
